Last August, we announced our intentions to release authentic Haberle Congress beer in Spring 2019. Well Spring is right around the corner and nobody is more aware of that than our family. We’ve been quiet for the past few months and it’s because we’ve been working hard to meet that commitment. There’s one and only one true Congress beer. But... what could possibly be better than one Haberle beer revival? Well, two.
We are proud to be re-introducing Haberle Derby Cream Ale, available on tap exclusively at both Empire Brewing Company locations.
Friday, March 8 and Saturday, March 9, please join us at Empire Brewpub in Syracuse for a public tasting of Derby Cream Ale Test Batch #1. We are still in development of Derby, but will be officially releasing it alongside Congress in the coming months.
We will be serving samples and in return, just ask for your comments on the beer. If you like it, the beer is available for purchase, on tap.
This is probably an appropriate time to acknowledge our brewing partner. We couldn’t think of a better team to be collaborating on Haberle beer, than the Empire team. Developing these recipes with our home brew system and small area breweries was productive, but working with a team who has such a deep appreciation and endless understanding of the craft and our Syracuse roots has really catapulted our development process. We couldn’t be more grateful.
In support of the Derby release, we have added several new items to our online store. We will have a couple selections (green Derby shirts) available for purchase at the Derby public tasting, just in time for St. Patrick’s Day!
Lastly, our Congress beer is still in development. We’ve been through about half a dozen test batches, lots of research, and even analytical testing of the original source. As you can imagine, we need to get this right. We’re getting there and know we’ll be delivering an exceptional pre-prohibition style lager.
We appreciate all of the support we’ve seen over the past several months and are eager to get you drinking our beer. We hope to meet you all on the 8th & 9th.
